I PURCHASED THE PROCOMP 7004 FOR MY CLASSIC TRUCK AND I AM NEEDING TO REPLACE THE ROTOR AND DISTRIBUTOR CAP. I CALLED CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND OF COURSE THEY SAID I HAVE NO OTHER OPTION BUT BUY FOR THEM. MY QUESTION IS HAS ANYONE ELSE PURCHASED THIS DISTRIBUTOR AND FOUND THE ROTOR AND CAP REPLACEMENT AT THE LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE? I HAVE SEARCHED ALL THE OTHER THREADS ON HERE AND FOUND NO ANSWERS. THANKS FOR THE HELP!

 

If your distributor is the one with the coil mounted in the center of the cap, I would just go to Autozone or some place like that get buy a cap and rotor for a 79 monte carlo and try that. If it doesn't fit, just take it back.

If yours has the remote mounted coil, do some research on a later Camaro, it might be one from the early 90's with a 305 or 350. If I am remembering correctly, they had the HEI distributor but it had the smaller cap and the coil was remote mounted. If you have a faster internet connection than I do, go to a site like Autozone's, and plug in a later chevy and bring up the dist and caps and they should have pictures of what they look like.

I am not sure if these will fit, but it would be were I would start if I had the same problem you have. Write back in if you find anything out.
