i know theres a ton of threads i could read on this subject but i get easily distracted and off topic (ADD) so im just gonna ask for info this way. i have an 04 with 54000 on it and was towing a camper to an event up here this weekend when after 45 min or so we stopped, i let the truck idle for five and shut it off. waited for a buddy for 15 then when we went to leave my truck threw a P0404 code with a check engine lite. so we reset it and went on our way. then the truck starts running rough and blowing black smoke if i wasnt staying on the throttle a lot. it would dog and not boost then come out of it and be fine as long as i kept driving hard. eventually it threw the same code again with a P0405 code. so i got through the weekend and got it home tonite. took out my egr valve and cleaned it til it was spotless, put it back in and went for a rip. took a few minutes but then it threw both codes again and now a P0405pd code as well. dont know that much about the 6 liter, only had mine since january. can anyone steer me in the correct direction? thanks for the help in advance and happy fourth guys.
so just pulled the egr valve again and discovered that i effed up the bottom o-ring putting the thing back in. where should i get o-rings (who makes the best ones?) and still need to figure out why im getting codes. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
