My 03 6.0 just came back from the shop after being fitted with a new base plate seal, rear seal and oil cooler seal. Nice huh, but before it left the shop the dealer said the gas peddle sensor is out of bounds causing the ending light not to come on. Dealer said it only will continue to show engine light until the $500 part is installed. OK, do it.
Engine light still on. WHAT? After driving it I sensed the lack of power on the low end when you punch it. OK, now what??? This truck is new to me and I am not sure what to expect, but I know that truck ran like a scalded dog before it went to the shop with oil leaks. Hopefully, some minor tuning and it will be as good as new.
I know the engine had to come out for the work that needed to be done.
Is this normal to have to tweak it back to life? Any turbo tuning needed?
They probably re-flashed to the latest factory "tune", and the later factory flashes are NOTORIOUS for destroying low-end power and throttle response. The solutions are expensive and don't always work.
I was thinking about that. I do not know if the truck had a chip in it, but it ran really strong the first day I bought it. The way it runs now it can't be the stock. I have heard the stock 6.0 really ran strong to begin with. Hopefully, another factory tune will take care of it.

I would think that if it was tuned the shop would have asked before returning it to factory. Most service departments tend to look the other way when it comes to tunes especially if it is out of warranty.....
