I've noticed a squeak has developed coming from my rear. Sounds like my back seat but I also thought it could be the leaf spring pads wearing through.
Has anyone else experienced this? Its becoming more persistent. Its metal-on-metal and happens as im driving with the bumps in the road. Almost like something was loose. For an unrelated reason I took all the seats out and put them back in so I know those are not loose..
Can't say I've had that problem with mine. I however, did chase a rattle in the passenger side of the truck for two years to the point where I torn the whole inside down only to find out it was a nickel in my daughters removable booster seat!
Those little squeaks eat my nerves out, good luck finding it.
i had a squeak coming from the rear right side "drivers side" of the cab for over a year, drove me crazy. not just the noise but being unable to locate it. over time i ended up taking the seats out, all interior panels. i'd take one panel out, drive around the block, noise still there, put it back in, same thing.
we'll i ended up finding it, hope its not your case, but the rear body mount rusted thru. where the body connects to the frame, "i think theres a piece of rubber with a metal plate on top of it-its been awhile since this happend to me, i kinda forget what it looks like down there". well the body itself rusted thru an began to dislodge slowly from the frame, and this caused my squeaking.
My dad chased a rattle in his Honda Pilot for months. He eventually emptied the entire vehicle and discovered it was a piece of paper fluttering in the spare tire compartment.
As for me, I have so much crap in the back seat that everything rattles. I just turn the radio up (My great-grandfather used that same trick for wheel bearing squeaks)
I have a squeak in the back too... took me a couple months to figure out it was the passenger-side seat belt hanger. Took 4 months (And summer weather) for me to locate that SOB.... was driving me nuts!
I had a squeaky rear seat in my 97. There are little rubber isolators where the seat back latches to the seat base and one was missing. I can't remember how the SD seat is setup but worth looking at.
Somebody on here had that on their sig. Cracked me up. Ever watch a midget try and get in a lifted truck, bring tears to your eyes and make you laugh to hard to breath.
Of course I have been mistaken for the worlds tallest midget myself.
