My dome light works, but not the map lights. Bulbs are fine. I saw the black/lt blue wire for the dome light and it gets power(obviously), but the light green wire for I'm guessing the map lights isn't getting any power at all. Where does this wire come out? Down by the parking brake? or does it run somewhere else? And where is the ??relay?? that the wire gets power from? I may have to rerun a wire, but need to know where to connect it to before I do that.
That wiring goes under the driver's threshhold behind the shoulder belt reel & up inside the B-pillar. It usually corrodes horribly just below the reel.
I will check that also...I have the same problem, dome light works like a champ, both little lights are no-go's. You say it corrodes behind the seatbelt reel eh....go to look now. Thanks.

Let me know what you find. I need to figure out what relay/connector a new wire needs to connect to and where it is. Probably end up running another wire.
I know if it's behind the seatbelt it's probably corroded as I had cracks in the rain gutter(as every Bronco I've ever seen has) that let water in the truck all the time. Used Bondo to fix that, but it probably won't hold. I'll just apply some silicon to it every once and a while when it starts cracking again.
I dug into this a little, to no avail though. I have gone this far without them, guess I can keep going...lol. Though I did break the ugly yellow lense that covers the dome light, so I changed the bulb...wow what a difference of lighting inside the truck without that yellowed lense.

My map lights don't work either. last year before the snow I found the 'light green wire' behind my b-piller was broken (looks cut). Well it got really cold the next day and it has been too cold sense then to fool around with it. I think it should be fixed when I reconnect that wire. But its a tight fit and I don't know if I can crimp or solder the wire back together.
How did you look behind the B pillar...it is sealed. Did you see it lower? ugghhh. This is one that will kill me..lol even thoug it isn;t that big a deal.

The break in the wire was at the bodom of the B-piller. Down behined where the seatbelt rolls up. Just remove the plastic thing and pull the carpet back.
There are a few wires running up the b-piller and all of mine looked perfect except the light green wire. Thats why I think somebody cut it. I have no idea why they would cut it though.
I wish it would warm up so I can try fixing it. We just got three more inches of snow last night. Its April, STOP SNOWING!
Thanks Mary Kate.... I found the stupid light green wire under the seatbelt reel. The moisture from sitting in the trough for 13 years caused to sire to break at the connector. I slpiced it back together and woohoo, they both work again. While insignificant in life overall, it was a milestone for my truck.. Thanks again
