Hi all,
Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July Weekend.
The Rev-X solved my no power when cold issue and I am wondering what my next move should be. My ficm voltage checked out good so should I just spend the 73.00 for the additive every oil change and see what happens in the future or go ahead and replace the injectors now to avoid a possible failure? Has anyone tried just using 4oz of the additive per oil change to see if that works?
My truck has 115,500 miles on it now and is stock, it runs great except for the no power when cold issue. It has had 3 instances of long cranks to get started and they happened months apart over a couple years.
I tow a lot with it near max weight hauling round baled hay and beef cows. I am going to get the scangaugeII so I can monitor whats going on.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Take care, John
You do not need to use it every oil change. Just use 1 or 2 once and that should cure the issue which it did! Since it fixed all of hte issues it does not sound like you have a bad injector...
Have you changed your coolant?
How often or have you serviced the diffs, transfercase, transmission, engine oil and fuel filters?
updating hte fuel pressure regulator is a good idea. 3C3Z-9T517-AG
What work has been done to your truck?
Powerservices has diesel kleen white and gray bottle. the difference? The white has antigell.

Plus 1 on the Powerservices diesel kleen. i use grey jug every fill up.
Thanks for the replies. Sorry It took awhile to get back.
My truck has only had a few things done to it,
turbo bracket replaced due to turbo droan back in 04.
Rear main seal in 04.
ball joints at 45,000 miles.
icp sensor replaced last year.
I use the diesel kleen white every other tankful or so.
changed the coolant at 95,000 miles.
use rotella 15w40
changed the trans filter a around 75k.
replaced diff fluids when the rear cover rotted through around 75k.
Only use ford oil and fuel filters. oil every 5k, fuel every 15k.
I am going to switch to 5w40 oil and change the fuel spring. My brother in law is an electrical engineer with motorola and is going to check out my ficm. He thinks the long cranks are due to cracking around the solder Joints only when its cold, we tested it when it was warm. I am going to order another 8oz of Rev x and add it after the next oil change if stiction comes back and then will figure on replacing injectors.
I am getting the scangauge II from autozone, I have 80.00 dollars autozone rewards saved up so it will only cost me 80.00 out of pocket. I picked up new rear shocks for it today.
