I really want to put a small lift on my new highboy but i dont know how high to go? Could anyone who has their truck lifted post a pic of it and tell what size lift and what shocks and tires, etc you are running? I want to see all my possible options
I have a 1974 F250 4x4. Standard Cab Long Bed..... Ill get pics of mine up soon i hope.
Hio are you sure that is a 4" lift it seems to sit higher above the 35's than mine does with 33's
I'm hecka sure it's 4 inches since I did the lift myself... it may appear higher cuz the Goodyears, although spec'd at 35 inches, physically measure 34 inches tall.
Here's a picture of my 2wd converted to 4wd and using Rancho 3" F150 coils. The truck has 36" Goodyears.
Those are the high end tires from Goodyear. A step up from the Duratrac's. How has the wear life been on those? I work at discount tire and have heard from customers that they wear really fast! Any truth to this?

those are the military wranglers in 36-12.50/16.5 bias ply hummer tires.they dont wear bad,but ride like crap in the winter until they warm up
Those aren't AT/R Kevlars. Those are a special military tire, came on the HMMWVs. They ran those ones as well as 37" Goodyear radials with a different tread pattern. A few have even been known to run 37" BFG Baja T/As, which are super expensive high end desert racing tires.
I'm running the MT/R Kevlars on my Jeep and they ride great, quieter than my old tires, and so far seem to be wearing pretty good. Others in my Jeep club run em and love em too, no complaints from any of them on wear, but then, the Cherokee is a lightweight rig. Stock, mine weighed in at 3400 lbs with almost a full tank of gas.
You guys are all right on all accounts. They are just cheap military surplus tires that flat spot in the winter, but actually handle fairly well.
When I sold the truck, they had probably around 5000 miles and were barely worn. I think they are a great budget tire. In fact, I got another brand new set for my current project. At $100 a piece brand new, it is kind of hard to beat.
