Almost done
I have filled the tanks and the check engine light is still on. My transmission temp still shows bad when I first crank up the truck with the overdrive off button flashing, even when the truck is cold. After driving about 3 miles, it stops flashing (the fluid is not low). It beats the crap out of me what is going on. I would like to find others who have the same problem and have found the cure.

jvh16, did you clear the codes with a laptop/tuner or are you waiting for the code to clear itself? It will take a few days to clear on its own. Either way if you have not tried it yet, unplug the vmv and drive for a few days and see if the od blinking stops.
got rid of the p0401,low EGR flow and P1409 Manufact. control - regrounded batt. ground wires to body and frame - Who would have thought - Now I will fill up both fuel tanks and hope that will do it.
fix codes p0401, low flow from EGR and p1409, Manufacture control - Reground batt. ground wires to frame and body - Who would have thought - Will go fill both fuel tanks and see if that works for the po443 code.
427 Mike, I have cleared the codes and have filled both tanks. I have ordered a PCM just to make sure. I am also going to try to chase down a few wires, but is seems strange to have one light to come on and a different light comes on which has no connection to the purge valve.

Let us know if the ecm works and what company you used. I tried two ecms from the same company: first one- ran very bad at idle but smoothed out and blew the same code plus ones that I never had. second one- ran very well but also had the same code plus different ones. This company claimed I did not need to have ford flash it. I'm about to sell this and buy a real Ford.
