Cruise Control Help Needed :)

I took my 2004 F150 to the ford shop, the cruse control just stopped working and was told that the module 4U7Z 12A650 AAE was bad & needed replacement ($1164.30) I had them order a used one but when it came in it was bad. is there something else that needs to be ck. The shop is very good people. thanks for any help. does anyone know where I can get a used one

Welcome to FTE.

Check the under hood brake master cylinder cruise control de-activation switch, mentioned above. If it sticks closed, it'll prevent the cruise control from setting, or it can make it intermittently drop out if it closes.

Did the shop pull a stored trouble code for the cruise control system, if so, post the code Number/s, if not & you can come by an ELM scan tool like this, https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-scantool.html that can query all of the vehicles controllers/computers, do that & see if it can turn up any trouble codes & post up All code Numbers, as they can provide good trouble shooting clues, but start a new thread, so you get answers just for your problem.

EDIT: The OP's original question was posed on the Ranger & B Series forum & I answered it above, before realizing it was for an F150, so I requested it be moved here so he could get replies for his model vehicle.

I'm having problems with my cruise control on my 2004 F-150 supercrew as well. When the outside temperature is -10 celsuis it will work. Once the temperature gets warmer, it won't work.
