I changed my ball joints out a while back with Moogs. My old ones are completely shot, but my steering didn't improve a whole lot afterward. I'm thinking about getting a redhead steering box. I called them the other day and asked them about it and they say that's been one of their best sellers. Apparently the steering boxes on these trucks suck too.

The friend that helped me had the ball joint press, and he was a machinist with a CNC plasma cutter at his house, so we made the pullers. If you've never done it before, you'll learn on the first side and the second side will be breeze. The first side of mine took us 7 hours and the opposite side took barely over an hour,
Oh and the steering box runs $550, and that's including the $200 refundable core charge. So $350 all said and done. Or at least I think that's what they quoted me. It's been a while since I called.
