Vacuum leak issues

Could you possibly put say 1# or 2#'s of pressure in the system to help find the leak. Seems like you could just squirt it down with soapy water and surly you would find your leak faster than looking for it with vacuum. Just wondering if it would work or possibly cause issues in some of the valves, switches, hubs, res?

Thats what Cory did with mine at RRE last year. I suffered through half the summer with the AC only blowing through the defrost.
