Yes, that's where I use it. I don't have any Vista machines under my care.
MRT is pretty good for simple adware infections. But it won't dig out any deep infections. Nothing will actually.
Steve, the other thing to do is look at your plugins in IE and FF. Look at the list of all available plugins in IE and see if something looks ugly. Then disable it. I don't use FF much, so I'm not sure how to do it there, but I'm sure it can be done.
Unfortunately you have had this problem so long that a system restore probably is not going to be a good fix. I'm sorry to say it, but it is always best to fix these problems the moment they pop up.

Another thought...sometimes it is as simple as looking at the list of applications installed in the Add Remove Programs list. Some Adware installs itself real friendly like, and you can just uninstall it. Not often, but definitely worth looking for.

OK...I'm running the full scan while we go out for the day. Hopefully it's finished by the time we get back. Judging by the slow movement of the progress bar it seems like it could take quite a while.
