I am getting bored with my pickup and want a little more power. I have done a lot of stuff and upgrades to my 99 f250 in the past year, I even have people guessing that it is a 40k pickup. I found a vortech supercharger but the kit is $5000. Figured I would check first about a ford lightening supercharger. Does anyone know if it would bolt up easily, what other parts would be needed or any part numbers? I thought about a motor upgrade but it is very strong and I have headers, y pipe, programmer, and k&n intake kit already on and don't want to start over with those parts.
Not a clue about the upgrade but will tell you a lot on here will tell you to spend that money on a different truck with a V10 or Diesel. I upgraded to a V10 and its much more power than my 5.4 was and the truck I own now is much heavier. I thought I wanted to keep my 5.4 forever.......until this came along Try seaching this in the SuperDuty Forum. I seem to remember that it is not simple and might take a lot of modification which equals more money which could be put into a newer truck that is more powerful.
The only way to add the Lightning setup is to get a donor truck, or a complete motor with wiring and ECU. There are a ton of headaches with it. If you want to supercharge it, the best way is with the kit.
Im not really looking for a new pickup. I got my superduty about a year ago and have about $8000 into it. Just looking for another project. I got a couple other cars but there isn't much left to do to them either. I have been looking for a Harley f150 for more of a daily driver. I will post pics of my superduty later

Why do you need the wiring and ECU? I am thinking about doing this set up myself and have no clue I found one on ebay. Here is his description
THIS IS A 99% COMPLETE LIGHTNING SUPERCHARGER KIT WAS GOIN TO INSTALL IT ON MY 2000 F250,BUT ENDED UP GETTING A NEW TRUCK.. COMES WITH PORTED BLOWER, LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD, THROTTLE BODY, ALL PULLEYS, FUEL RAIL, LIGHTNING MASS AIR, ALL BOLTS, ONLY THING U SHOULD NEED IS THROTTLE CABLE AND INJECTORS.
buddy of mine added a vortech kit to his 2005 F150. It was BA, only thing he had to do extra with the kit was get cobra (42# IIRC) injectors and Tuning was done by Jody at DP tuner. He paid to have it installed however so im not to familiar with the particulars.
ECU can be programmed (unless you have Sniper software!), wiring just needs an adjustment for IAT senor location change.
How much is the ebay kit? I would try for a low mileage stock blower over ported...in fact I'd suggest you lower the boost (Harley upper pulley) with stock engine internals.
The list is only about 75%! You still need a bunch o stuff: T-stat, upper hose, IC hoses, IC (intercooler), IC pump, IC reservoir, injectors (39LB[cobra w/ Ev1-Ev6 connectors] or 42LB[stock lightning] are good, fuel pump(s), plugs, maybe intake elbows and air filter setup, and gaskets off the top of my head...I'm sure I forgot something else. Not to discourage you!
