Used my 2011 F250 SD 6.2 to pull my travel trailer yesterday... It was the first time I noticed that it appeared to be downshifting on its own when I was applying the brakes. Kind of very cool to see, hear, and feel...
Now... don't flame me, I'm still new to this big boy truck game... but this is normal, right? At one point it dropped to third and sent the engine racing up over 4500 RPM. If its not a problem, cool. If it could be, what more should I be doing aside from enjoying this extra cool feature that my Expedition didn't have?
Under a few circumstances, I've felt that the tranny braking held on a little too long. When that happens, just press the Tow/Haul button to turn it off, the truck should upshift, and away you'll go. You can turn it on and off at will. You won't hurt anything.

Yep. I usually just touch the throttle, which will also kick it up to whatever the normal gear would be.
I love that transmission. Best auto I have ever driven.
