99 F350 XLT. My stock headlights are dim and fogged up. Also the housings are cracked and they are just kind of hanging there. The entire assemblies need to be replaced.
Budget is about $150 for both sides. Any recommendations?
Certifit.com has non-oem direct fit replacements for about $30 each. If it were me, I would probably take the opportunity to upgrade to the 05 headlights. It requires an wiring adapter kit from Clay and a little trimming to the header panel but have a lot better light output in my opinion. They are right $75 each so it will put you overbudget slightly if u do that one.

Get the '02-'04 Headlights from a known quality aftermarket outfit, add Sylvania SilverStar bulbs, you'll be fine, no cutting the header panel, no wireing problems, I did this on my '99 along with the clear corner lights and my truck looks a whole lot better and I am very satisfied with the light output.

That's what I did, '02 headlights-silverstar bulbs $ the 9007 harness from GOSperformance. Nothing to cut or monkey with & lights are great, don't even have to mess with the park lights unless you want to.

i just bought these same headlights off ebay. do you have to have a harness with them?
NO, you don't need any special harness for these, for some reason some of the guys feel the need to change the actual light sockets to the later type like would be used on the 2005 up housings-I guess they feel that they can get better brighter bulbs for these.
I actually got FACTORY '04 lights and corners from a seller on Ebay so I got lucky, but I understand that SOME of the aftermarket are good quality as well.

I see you are in Oregon. If you ever get down to Central California I have a pair of '01 headlights that are in good shape. You are welcome to them.

The Sylvania SilverStar bulbs should be something like the original part number on the ones you have-PLUS the new lights come with bulbs-probably not real good ones, just wait for a sale on the SilverStars.....also some have reported that the SilverStar ULTRAS don't last, so based on that just get the regular SSs
I love the '05-'07 lights too, but wasn't ready to cut my header panel and change wireing just yet-may be when these '04s get REAL ugly.
