You are about the second one I have heard of oil cooler problems. So this a rare as far as I know.

Shop around..it is on your dime. See if there is an international dealer there where you live that can do it.

done a few coolers. if your going to have it done have they pull the water pump and check the front cover. I might suggest having them do this first. a heavly cavated front cover has the possibility of causing the same type of concern. you may also have more then one concern.
price is fair for an oil cooler to... my opinion.

Have you always owned this truck or did you buy it used? I am wondering this as the local Ford Diesel mechanic that I go to is telling us that the local ranchers are NOT changing oil on the "severe service schedule" and idling a lot and they are seeing this issue more this year than before. He also said the the ranchers are not using the proper oil. They are going to TSC or other farm and ranch supply stores and buying the cheapest "Diesel Motor" oil and using that in very severe conditions. Interesting as you bring this up now as several of us had coffee yesterday morning (Mike comes in most mornings) and this came up and he was telling us the observation. He said he was not 100% on this but he was pretty firm on the parafin that he has seen coming out of some of the engines. He said the 6.0's are not immune to it either.

Ditto! No additive except for a Cetane booster such as one from Motorcraft or Diesel Kleen. They will tend to clean the injectors a bit also.
