Its a bit out of focus, but you can see the screen on there on the left side of the FPR assembly.
Its accessible from inside the fuel bowl when you take the lid off on the drivers side right at the top.
Cut the fuzzy end off a paper stem q-tip and use that to scrape the crud off the screen, or pull the FPR off completely.
I suggest doing the first one in the case that your screen o-ring is bad like mine was and you have to then find one to fit and find a ride to get it like I did, which isn't fun.
I actually do not have the correct o-ring on mine, it seals good though.
Your FPR might look a bit different. This is the one from the 94-early95's.
It's a little wire mesh screen about 5/8" diameter. It's actually part of the FPR assembly. When you remove the FPR it will be in the piece that comes out of the fuel bowl. There's supposed to be a check ball in there as well, but mine hasn't had one since I got it. PO must have dropped it.
Yeah, the check ball is plastic, so if you drop it, good luck finding it.
It's usually in there pretty tight anyways. (the FPR screen assembly)
Doesn't the late95-97 versions have a wire mesh thing inside the FPR someplace as well?
I would imagine the fuel from the bowl will drain out while doin this procedure? The Fpr has 2 bolts that hold it on correct? Anything to be careful for???
The yellow lever on the passenger side is the drain.
Flip it over and if nothing comes out, crack the fuel filter lid loose and watch for where to put the bucket.
It will drain down someplace depending on where the hose is or if you have a hose still.
2 bolts hold it on if you want to take it off. They are a bugger to get off.
There is indeed another wire mess filter thing inside the FPR on the 96-97 units, but I've only had it out once and it looked pretty good. As for the 2 10mm bolts, mine were not bad at all.

I removed my cat yesterday and cleaned the wire mesh screen from the inside of the fuel bowl with a white rag. For a little screen that baby had some buildup on it. Goin to test my fuel pressure this afternoon and go from there. I have been recommending this site to my buddies that got 7.3's. So much knowledge and know how I can't believe it. Thanks again for all your help. Let's just hope this works!!!
