Dash Pad

Just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with the dash pad covers sold from LMC, or any other aftermarket dealer before? My dash has several cracks in it, and the center speaker spot with a bunch of little holes is now just a couple of very big holes. The catalog says its designed to cover up cracked dashes, but I question how well it will actually fit. Do you need to strip the existing cover away from the foam, and then recover, or just slap the new cover over the existing. The later seems like it wouldn't work very well, and the former sounds like you could easily ruin your dash pad.

From everywhere I've looked, this is the only option to restoring it to like new, unless you find the needle in a hay stack used one that is still in good shape.
