Scan Gauge II - Boost issue, EOT temp?
Honestly guys, all of these posts seem so foreign to me.

I'm waiting for my new ScangaugeII to be delivered and it's scaring me thinking about programming it, much less understanding what it is I'm seeing once I do.
Isn't there a cliff notes version or "ScangaugeII for Dummies" guide or something?

Don't be skeered

Did you ride your bicycle full speed when you first got it ?
programming it is as easy as following some prompts and cycling thru some numbers...
pick an extra gauge that is easy to type and works for all...
it will be slow at first but once u get the trick of it, it goes fast...
And the best thing about it, the SG2 is a read only device, not like you can mess up your truck or anything... either the code you type in will work or it won't.... if it doesn't work, just type over it and try again !
Only thing that will hurt the truck or the gauge is if you get frustrated with it and throw the sg2 against the dash

Where did you get a SGII with a preprogrammed "boost"?
Mine wasn't in there when I got mine. I had first entered boost from the Xgauges page, and had the very same situation as you, negative numbers after 20 or so. Matter of fact, most did. James from Scangauge resolved our issues on this. Just hopw they update the website soon.
You will do fine.

It came with a choice of MAP or BST when you first set it up. It said in the manual that if I had a diesel, to choose BST.

The fine folks here at the FTE forum are always willing to help someone out. Once you read the manual, you'll do just fine. And like the guy above said, you can't damage anything!
