Intermittent Starting Problem

I recently replaced the upper bearings in the steering column in my 1996 F150 4x4(302, Auto, tilt, cruise, airbag). Everything went fine for a week or two and now, sometimes when I try to start it.......NOTHING! Turn the key back off and try again......NOTHING! Try it again it will start. Sometimes it will start first try, sometimes 2-3 tries, sometimes 1 try, sometimes 3-4 tries......you get the picture. I am wondering if the ignition switch is not making contact all the time or what. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Could be a few things but I think I would try adjusting the ign switch. It is bolted to the side if the steering column under the dash with two bolts. Loosen the bolts and slide it down the column a little.
