Also I found that I have a pair of Rough Country drop radius arm brackets from a 6" lift (ttb setup). Would I be able to use these on the stock '77 arms?
Well I got it sitting on it's own weight (temp). I threw some poor looking radius arm brackets together to see how it sits. It looks a lot bigger than 5.5"!! But I'm stuck, I can't seem figure how to mount the radius arms. I can't just mount them to the frame, it seems like the pinion and axle are way high that way.
I have to shim the bottom coil mounts with a washer and I'm hoping that will help the coil bow. I am starting to run out of steam on this. Need some pointers and comments (negative and positive are fine). I ordered a track bar and shackle flip from ruff stuff today.
Also still have to finish the steering, mount the shock mounts, measure for shocks, figure out RAs and RA Mounts.
The coils will settle a little, maybe .5"-1" once you get driving, though my rear leaves on the bronco are so worn out they've settled even more, even though it was level when I put it togehter. Upside to that is they're super flexy. If you're not satisfied with ride height up front, you can always move the coil buckets up or down (lower or raise, obviously) to get it just right.. I would wait until then before you decide on final mounting for the radius arms though. If you moved those coil buckets up a few inches you wouldn't need those "drop brackets", but like I said... depends on where you want rid height to be.
Holy shatballs! You fail at painting more than you fail at welding...if possible. Well I guess you fail at welding more because last time I checked paint runs wont KILL YOU!
PS how in the name of Zeus' butthole did you manage to get what looks like 7018 slag from a mig welder with Ar/CO2 mix?
lol it's not paint, it was the original bed coating. And I was showing my friend how to weld, I did a few and he finished up. Sorry for the poor weld skillz! I can do better, but yes it was high heat and fast wire.
The pinion will look like it points high untell u put those bushings in the radius arms. Jack the *** end up n get that thing to sit level. Might lood a lot different than.

I have the bushing in the radius arms on the axle side. Also I had the rear level while installing. Lowered just to get an idea.
Also I must forgot to mention that I don't plan on using those mounts. Just a mock up. And you can only weld scrap for so long. When learning to weld on your back and in tight spots it's much different.
I'm glad you put your life in a friends hands who is seemingly only capable of bubble gum welds.
I also love how any time anything is criticized on the interwebz it ends up being "done by someone else" or "only for mock-up." In your case its two for one.
Doesn't anyone do things right the first time anymore?

Lauren likes it when I get in her tight spot too.
As for thing getting done right the 1st time, that's too easy. It's more efficient to waste time and do something 6 or 7 times
