Motocraft EV-233 is the PCV valve for 1999-2003 v-10 superduties . O'Reilly and Rock Auto have it . New one came with a 90 degree elbow fitting that had to be removed by heating it slightly .
Not hard to replace, should be on the passenger side valve cover.
Damn, I just noticed this was my 400th post. I spend WAY too much time here.
I went to O'Reileys and told them I needed a pcv for a 1999 V-10 early model. No problem! What they sold me does not look anything like the valve that is coming out of the valve cover mid way on the passenger side. Is mine heated? It has an insulated hose and the valve is black plastic looking. Or, is the pcv farther back on the valve cover?
Just an update on my oil consumption. Did a weeks vacation pulling the TT. 1453 miles all but about 250 towing and didn't use any oil!! So I guess my excessive oil usage was because the PVC valve wasn't seated in the valve cover. Yahoo!!
After a couple of years of burning a quart (or more) of oil between oil changes I came across this thread and decided to replace my PVC. I purchased the new pvc from O'Reily's and took it with me when I had my oil changed. I asked them to install it and they said no problem but the mechanic showed me the original (157,000 miles on it) and shook it and said he thought it was still good. I said change it anyway, DANG!
So far after 800 miles it doesn't seem to be consuming any oil. Keeping my fingers crossed!
