Most dually's have a heavier receiver than the SRW, so I think it is more than 5k. Even a stock F250 is good for 6k load bearing. But regardless, you are definitely going to need one for 13k.
The later job 2011 have upgraded receivers even on the F250. I think they are good for 14k with WD. You know them by the 2.5" receiver.

I bought a 24' enclosed car hauler trailer a few years back that runs just under 7k loaded with car, its a 10,400gvw trailer, went to my local trusted parts/trailer/marine jobber and asked for a WD hitch and they said I didn't need one with the F350 Dually, so I just bought a sway control bar, this setup pulls very well.I would have thought I'd need a WD hitch with that.
Now we are looking at Travel trailers up around 12k gvw loaded so thats why I asked about the WD hitch.....better safe than sorry.......any good brands out there? any to stay away from? Thanks Again!!

There is a white sticker attached to your hitch that tells you at what weight W/D is required. If your trusted store didn't look at yours specifically, or one identical to yours, then they are only speculating.
Hey guys, this is just a heads-up. If you go to the Cequent site (they own Reese), you will discover there is a recall on the Reese Pro shanks. It just came across dealer's email and should reach the general public soon. It seems there is a problem with the quality of metal in the sfhanks manufactured for Reese outside the United States and there is a danger they will fail under load. The problem is confined to a specific timeframe and I do not have it in front of me, but I think it was for shanks sold in the mid-summer of 2010. If you are running with a Reese Pro Shank, you may want to check it out.
It is a small miracle that Reese,Curt,Valley, and draw Tite are all in the USA. I belive we only have one or 2 steel mills left in the USA. My parent company (RV Parts Distributer in Utah) for years sold all those brands. (recently closed). I have a small stock Valley, Draw tite, and Cody Hitch I am liquidating all made in the USA.
We have our own line of Tainium WD hitches 6k,8k,10k round bar chain style I sell for 150 a unit and 16k 5th wheels for 300.00 (complete) made in china, However same quality and craftsman ship. We just can't afford the cost to be made in the USA because we are a small company. I hope to grow bigger and change that.
Equalizer was the first WD hitch to be made in Utah so everyone in Utah calls WD Hitches Eqaulizers. They are a great brand with a good design (sold tons back in the day)..be prepared to dish out bucks for their 14,000 pounder...anything above 14k you have to go fifth wheel.
I love the USA our Removable Mud flap systems uses USA Rubber and are assembled in the USA in house. So please when you can buy american.
Any towing questions feel free to ask I can probley point you in the right direction. Rule of Thumb for weight Distribution you want to be between 10-15% of your total gross weight when purchasing a WD hitch for a balanced load .
