Today i remove the fuel pump assembly on my Ford flathead V8.
with removing , one nut fals into the engine, i try to get it out but it fals further down...
I think it is in the oil pan or somewhere, is this a problem ? is there a gear down in the engine what can demages with this nut ? i see in the parts book there is a filter on the oil pump so it will nog go into the oil pump gear.
I would definitely pull the intake and remove that nut. It is unlikely that the nut make it all the way into the crankcase. The fuel pump push rod has a large oil deflector built onto it which probably sent the nut toward your valves and lifters.
