Audiophile, where's the sub

I'm sure one of you has to know, cause I'm actually not sure if I have it. I bought my 02 EB Explorer used about 2 weeks back, it has the 6 disc indash rated at 290watts. It sounds good, and from what I can tell it "sounds" as if it has a sub. I'm not sure though if the head was put in by the previous owner as an upgrade or if it came stock with this setup.

Basically I'm just trying to find out details on what speakers are where in my vehicle and what size they are so I can start buying upgraded components.

Audiophile, where's the sub

i heard of the sub hiding in the panels in the rear towards the hatch where a MTX thunderform would go, also in the spare tire location...as for speakers i think they use 5x7s now instead of Fords traditional 6x8. i assume they are in the doors like a f-150 but i can be wrong on that. i guess crotchfield didnt have the specifics yet?

The rear doors are 6x8's. My audiophile set up has 5" separates in the front. If your X has a factory sub it will be in the back near the 3rd row seat on the passenger side. You will see the grill. Looks like its a 6" driver. Crutchfield does not have specs on it yet.

Smile Audiophile, where's the sub

The sub is in the back of your EXP -- probably on the left side behind a panel. Check the Expedition forum and search for subwoofer. Worked well for me!
