this is odd...
Took the new ride out on maiden camping voyage, all went well...when coming home I switched to the rear tank got home turned the key off everything turned off except the engine. Messed around a bit with key and column still no dice, switched back to front tank and bingo it shut off. Anyone experience this before?...
Does the tank valve have a fuse? Try pulling that, if the truck shuts off the PO may have spliced some wires somewhere. If you have this trouble again you can shut it off by pulling the connector on the top of the ip that has the 2wires on it. That is the Fuel shut off selenoid.
never have, but it certainly appears you have a short circuit between your tank selector valve (or wiring to rear tank) and the fuel control solenoid (kill switch). in light of the fact that switching tanks causes the problem to appear/disappear, its evident that your problem can't be in the ignition switch, so it would probably be somewhere in the wiring. you might do well to run a test light from the fuel control solenoid to somewhere you can see it, switch to the rear tank (light on), and start moving wires around in the whole system until the light flickers or turns off. once you get that, you can't be too far from the short
