Well it's time to replace my front brake rotors AGAIN on my 03' Excursion 4x4. I would like to go after market rotors/calipers etc. Tied of replacing factory rotors twice a year. I'm sure some of you have done this and I would like to hear what brand / model you had the best luck with.
p.s. Any tire replacement would be appreciated also as I need to replace them soon. Just picking your brains on these items.
For brakes, I have had good luck with Raybestos pads and rotors. As for tires, I will never never buy anything other than Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours.
Baer knows there stuff, and with the cross drilled rotors the heat build up is dissapated. heat is what kills the stock rotors, especially the fronts. They are a bit more expensive, but so far I've gotten 50 K on my present set with no problems (I pull a 10K trailer)...
For tires, I went with Bridgestone Desert Dueler (Revos') E rated. great tires, have gotten almost 45 K out of a set, rotating them yearly. Best part is if I need to replace them. most every Sears carries this brand and size. On my third set now, just replaced last year.
When you go to a Ford dealer for a brake job, they always install the motorcraft garbage!
Most consumers don't know that you can actually purchase Ford branded brakes for a few dollars more.
I like to stick with OEM when possible, I have owned my Ex for about 7 years, last year I had my rotors and pads done at my local ford. Well 10k miles later total garbage.
So now I'm back to Ford label brakes, huge dif. No brake dust no sqeeking, stops great.
I'm guessing less heat so no rotor warp.
I usually go about 50k miles before replacing pads and rotors.
Also, if replacing rear calipers with oem they come with new pads.

Lemme ask you this first: Why are you replacing the rotors so often? What problems are you having with your brakes that make you replace them so early in their life?
I think I know why, but I hate to assume, so I'll let you answer first.
I'm running the Napa Ultra Premium rotors in front and Premiums in the rear with Hawk LTS pads and have no issues after almost 2 years of them being installed. Biggest thing is no matter what brand/model/type of rotors/pads you install is they need to be bedded in. Hawk has good instructions on their site: Bed-In Instructions

^^^ This is what I ended up replacing mine with after doing much research on this topic. I wanted the cyro-treated rotors with the Hawk pads, but couldn't justify paying double when the Napa Ultra Premiums have a lifetime warranty against warpage.
