I think I will remove the tail stock and hold the spedo gear next to the tail shaft gear, and as recommended, make sure they align. If they do then I will drill it out and drill and tap the screw hole. I will let you know what happens. Also do you think my local auto store will have the tail stock gasket?
Also before all of this, with my spedo hooked to the old AOD...the spedo needle would bounce and was about 20 mph off, or so. I've looked at the spedo gear and it is not marred, or damaged. Could the cable be bad, or is the whole speedometer itself bad?
