Sean,

I got the Dyno software. Let me know your secrets for input data.
Particularly the Ed Heads?

Even with your didsdain for that Crower cam, that's a pretty nice torque curve.

Thanks,
Greg

You just have to input the data correctly. There is a head flow and cam spec icon at the top. This will let you enter all the important stuff.

Just ordered my 428 stroker. 6-8 weeks away (apparently it takes 4 weeks just for the custom pistons)

428 at .030 over , I guess that's 4.16"

4.125" SCAT Stroker Crank

Custom Pistons to get 10.5 CR with Ed Al heads (FE Guru at Flatlander claims this is pump gas friendly with the Al Heads, let me know if you all disagree).

When the wife finds out what this costs, I'm gonna be a batchelor again.

I'll be matching this with the Ed RPM intake, 750 Ed Carb, All MSD iginition with Billet Dizzy and probably the Crower Cam I have already broke. I'll probably consider other cams over the next 2 months.

It wil be going into this truck:
http://www.thedreyerfamily.com/clean67.htm

with a rebuilt C6, 4.10 gears, big disks up front and power steering. I hope it's complete by the end of the summer. I hope it's paid for by the Boat Show in Janurary :-)

Sean,

Take alook at my setup with the 343941, and let me know if you think there is a better cam. It looks to the best of about 4 that I checked.

can I run .563 lift on my stock vale-train?

I was running .546 wit no observed issues.

fasttexan,

I think I ran your setup successfully, but I can't figure out how to get the graph as a picture. (I have been running very similar setups, since my 428 Stroker is on the way and I'll be using the same heads, intake, and carb).

The short story looks pretty good:

438 HP at 5500 RPM
483 lb-ft of torque at 4000 RPM

I'll keep trying to get a graph.

Get yer FE dynoed here....

hi i just found out this weekend my fe is really a 360, talk about ******. anyway i have a 360 standard stroke and bore, an edelbrock performer intake, for now a 750 carb and heddman headers with 1 3/4 primaries. and everything else is stock. can you give me a rough guess at the hp and torque, i know i don't have enough numbers for you to plug it in your desktop dyno. but i 'm just wondering how much power i'm going to lose over a 390. thanks

I don't know for sure but I'd say your probably lookin at roughly 220-250 hp and somewhere between 300-350ft lbs of torque. i know that's pretty broad but i hope it gives you an idea

Hey Rat. I know this thread is kinda old and I'm not sure if you can still do this or not but I figured it's worth a try. Didn't have the cam card yet back when this was hot. Just got my truck back with the new motor in it and sure would like some numbers if you have time. Here are all of the specs I could round up:

1) Bore X Stroke
4.11 x 3.78

2) Head info:
Edelbrock Performer RPM FE
.100=88/64 .200=153/113 .300=195/148 .400=233/171 .500=265/183 .600=270/200

3) Carb Size
Holley 750 Dual Feed

4) What intake you have
Edelbrock Performer RPM

5) Compression Ratio
10.6:1

6) What kind of exhaust you have (headers, mufflers etc...)
Hooker Comp Headers #6903. 2.5" exhaust w/ Flowmasters

7) Cam Specs: (Accuracy is very important)
Comp 292 Hydraulic cam part# 33-240-4
Valve Adjustment - HYD
Gross Valve Lift - .560 Intake/Exhaust
Duration @ .006 tappet lift - 292 Intake/Exhaust
Valve Timing @ .006:
Intake - Open 40 BTDC, Close 72 ABDC
Exhaust - Open 80 BBDC, Close 32 ATDC
Specs for cam installed @ 106 Intake Center Line:
Duration @ .050: 244 Intake/Exhaust
Lobe Lift - .3235 Intake, .3235 Exhaust
Lobe Separation - 110.0°

The rest of the story:

71 F-100 Sport Custom Shortbed
390 bored .060" over (402 ci)
4.11 x 3.78 bore/stroke
Holley 750 (3310/4160; dual feed, vacuum sec.)
Edelbrock Performer RPM FE aluminum intake
Edelbrock Performer RPM FE aluminum heads
Comp 292 hydraulic cam (.560 lift/244 duration @.050")
Stock 390 rods reconditioned w/ARP bolts
MSD Pro Billet FE distributor
MSD 6A Ignition Module
MSD Blaster Coil
Autolite spark plugs
MSD 8.5mm wires
Melling HV oil pump w/ARP driveshaft
Hooker Comp headers #6903
Dove aluminum roller rocker assembly with billet steel shafts & billet split stands
Crane Vacuum canister
10.6:1 Compression
Rebuilt C-6 with shift kit
2800 RPM Stall Converter

If you have a chance I sure would appreciate it. And if not, I understand that too!

Thanks.
