Buddy of mine has a 2001 f250 7.3. with 6 speed for sale for 7k but needs a clutch. If i get it I plan on putting the Banks tuner on, so what would be a good clutch kit?
Thanks for the input guys, I did some searching for the tuners and probably wont be going the banks route. With that being said, how about clutch kit recomendations? And should i replace the flywheel also.
The guy at the parts house should be able to suggest the best clutch. With 160K miles I would check the flywheel out to see if it needs replacing. You may be able to get it resurfaced, if it can be redone within specs. But sometimes it is just better to replace than resurface cost wise......
The truth is that it never stops at just a chip for performance. If you get a chip, you need gauges. If you get gauges and a chip, why not a bigger exhaust? You can see where this is going.
I'd suggest a Southbend clutch. Get the one for extra horsepower. I accidently installed the lower hp rated clutch because I didn't do the math on the horsepower I now run. I have to live with it till I save for a higher rate clutch. What a waste.
