losing wheel weights

I have a 2004 f-250 fx4 with Nitto Terra Grappler on it. I don't know if it's the wheel or the tires that makes it throw weights off it but, it's only one wheel that keeps losing weights. has anyone ever had this problem?

Thanks in advance

how many have you had come off so far and how long apart?
my first guess would be the wheels may have a defect. are they stock?

The OP doesn't mention what kind of wheels, what size tires, WHAT KIND OF WHEEL WEIGHTS or the name of the idiot who balanced the aftermarket tires.

I vote for the idiot tire balancer.

Make sure you get the stick on weights on aftermarket wheels. The pop-in type come off at high speeds. I made the last place re-balance all 4 tires after I heard about 4 flip off on the freeway after just leaving the shop. The stick on type worked well for me.

i've got an 04 f350 that i just put new tires on a couple months ago. lost my front right wheel weights twice and left once. got tired of going to get them rebalanced. left them off. i have duals on the back but havent noticed any of them missing. guess i better check. i have factory wheels and never any problems losing weights before. i was thinking defective weights. not anymore.

Do the Nittos have the bead guard around the rim? That makes it hard to get some wheel weights to stay on.

The other thing...clean the wheel with break kleen before....the least little bit of film on them can make the sticky last about a month.

Never been a big fan of these until I got KR wheels but the stick on's (if properly installed) have been a LOT better than the lip weights as far as staying stuck. The lip weights were a BIG problem with the Scorpion ATR's because of the bead. No more.

From: jacksonville nc,
I forgot to mention that the wheels are stock and the nittos do have the rim guard. I only seem to be losing the weights on the front wheels. I didn't even make it a mile down the road and lost the fist weights so, I went right back and had them rebalanced and didn't make it back to my house 3 miles away and lost them again. the weights are not the stick on kind.

As much as I hate to admit this, I had mine done at wallyworld. The tech did a great job and took his time to get it right. He even apologized for "taking too long" but I went back and thanked him later because he got it right the first time.

I bought the tires online (not from wal mart) and had them installed at wally world. Mounted/balanced $50 was about $50 CHEAPER than anyone else in town would even touch them for and no disposal fee. Whole set of tires $650 delivered to the door, mounted and balanced. no complaints.
