I have a 1979 f250 super cab long box. The box that was on the truck when I bought it was garbage so I took it off and threw it away (rusted and rotted all over). I live in southern Ontario in Canada and I'm having a hard time finding a good long box for my truck. Any suggestions on where I could get one?
Where abouts in Southwestern Ontario are you? If you live in the Listowel, Wingham Goderich area you could try Subjects auto wreckers. Seems to me that last fall I had seen a flatbed go by my house and there was a full 78-79 dent sitting on it, box was off it, that is what makes me think Subjects has the whole thing. John

What are you looking to spend?
I know exactly where you can get one, two, three... hell even a dozen beds if you really want... but they'll cost you.
I never went with the contact that I've got, just cause I thought he wanted too much (outta my budget), but if you're looking to get a really decent box, I could give you his phone #.
He usually sells his boxes for $1,500 - $2,000 based on condition and type (shortbox/longbox, single gas door/dual gas door, condition, etc).
The only bad part is that he requires cash in hand (first come first serve), and he won't set up any shipping to where you live. You have to set up the shipping all yourself.
I live in the Owen Sound area so I'm about an hour and a half from Goderich (I think, it's been a while since I was down that way). I tried to google Subject Auto but couldn't find anything. Do you have a # for them?
Aaron-71: Where is your guy located? If he's relatively close to me I might be interested if I can go and pick it up but from the prices you posted plus shipping it would be hard for me to justify spending $2000-$3000 on a box for my $3000 truck!

There is a lot of people on here I've seen that have them for around $400-500. Like they said in the other post shipping is going to cost you a arm and a leg.

Let me know
He lives in Alberta. You actually may be better off to contact ChaseTruck. He's always got stuff for sale, and most of those So Cal (Southern California) guys have GREAT condition stuff for really cheap.
Recently Chase was tring to sell a perfect cab, no rust, for $50.... I paid $750 CAN for mine, and I had it shipped to me from southern SASK... What a pain...
I'm VERY tempted to set something up with chase so we can both get rich off selling So. Cal stuff up here in Canada.... I keep seeing So. Cal vehicles (Fairlane, galaxy, mustang) for sale here in Sask, and I bet they were bought for 1/4 of the price they're selling them at!
EDIT: Here is Chase's profile page. Give him a PM, he's online right now.
I'm guessing that chase would be happy to help you out, but he's always told me "you have to set up the shipping". Honestly, for the price he's selling stuff at, it'd be worth it to give So. Cal. a few calls and set up some shipping for even more than 1 box. I'm sure you could make it worth your while if you've got the time to set this up!
