I don't know what part of Canada you're in but if you are close to a border there usually are people that provide a mailbox type service on the US side.

You can setup a "US mailing address" with this company, you send your items over to the US address and drive over to pick them up.

The ripoff shipping charges is one thing, wait until the scum at the border decide you'll be paying $$$$$$ in import duties and there's nothing you can do about it.

So you take that new gear box out and cover it in grease and gear oil and tell them that you broke down and it is the old one.

Have someone mail you a fake BOS and have it on hand!

Like Sessland said, if you are close to the border you can have it shipped there and just cross over and pick it up. Generally a $5'ish fee.

There are a few different options out there for border package receival. I use Kinek as they have locations all across the Canada/US border.

I know what you meant, but I fixed your post anyway lest anyone thing you were referring to someone other than the government.

Thanks for catching that I went and changed my post as well to reflect what I meant a little better as well. I just don't understand why he can't just buy the thing and that be the end of the transaction. How is there another step in this process?!?

If you want you pm me your address. We ship things a lot to canada. I will see how much it is and you can send it to me and I will ship it to you.
It costs extra because of a thing called duty. Once it crosses the border it is then considered an export and you have to pay extra.
