On the way to work tonight my turbo started sounding like a siren. I hope I will be able to rebuild it. I just don't want to spend a lot money for a new one.

Same scenerio, got on it on th efreeway, and BAM, exploded the compressor wheel and snapped the shaft. sounded like an ambulance. Got rebuild kit from Clay, and found a used turbo on C.L. (75 buks). all is good for last 8k. Not a difficult job at all.
Easiest turbo made to rebuild, no special toots needed very little skill needed just ability to follow directions, I'm sure my labs can do them by now (they have watched enough being done) just order up a kit and a wheel and get to it!

I was raised on the Brazos, where you raised on the river?
Definitely not difficult, check out Riff Raff Diesel for the rebuild kit. When I did mine a few months ago I think it cost around $100. Could be a couple 100 bucks more if you need a shaft and/or compressor wheel.
Well the problem with turbo. It got trashed from the clip for the dirty filter indicator cold air intake. I have a new one being deliver tomorrow. Will not be able to run cold air intake so I can have a warrant. I have order a another Garrett.
The turbo shaft was bent all fins broken off. The mechanic I use for some of my truck needs found me a ford factory turbo. Will not be able to use cold air intakes because of warranty. Did not think I lost so much horsepower until this was replaced.
