Stock turbo is a Garrett TP-38, Aftermarket Garrett is a GTP-38r.... The 38r has a 4" ported intake housing and a 1.00 exhaust housing.

Stock turbo has a smaller exhaust housing, smaller intake housing... Bushing center section...

Aftermarket has a 4" ported intake housing, larger exhaust housing and a Ball Bearing center section...

What exactly are you looking for?

I bought a 2001 f350 used I am the third owner. The guy that I bought it off of was the second owner and was clueless about the truck. The first owner had put some extras on the truck. I was just wondering if the turbo was one of them.I am running 25+ very easy i have to let out of it.

Well, you could have a van turbo, a Ballbuster/phatshaft type, or one of the ball bearing units not to mention a Holset or H2E. Why not post a pic of your setup. Bet someone can identify it. Might even be a stocker with a good tune.

If it has a 3" intake tube 99% its a stock turbo... If it has a 3" and a 1.15 housing (exhaust) then its a van turbo... Very doubtful that it has an aftermarket turbo...

What other mods do you have on the truck? Is there AM/ exhaust? Do you have a different intake then stock? Is there some kind of chip or programer on your truck?

Making 25# of boost is not very hard if you have a few mods.

thats a stock turbo..but there could be a wicked wheel in there..you need to pull the air intake tube to see the wheel..if you do that..see if the wheel has any chips or dusting..grab the nut and try to feel any play up and down side to side..very little play is ok..then pull in and out for any play..should be no play at all there..
