I've got one in my truck, I have four gauges, boost, exhaust temps, fuel pressure and transmission temp, aalong with the 6637 intake, the tuner will give you better mpg, power and firm up your shift but hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I had just spend the extra 200 on the dp tuner with some good tunes. I would recommend the dp tuner if your going to be a member of this website, and get your gauges first. Its a must if your going to tune your truck.
You can run whatever you like and still be a member here, but there are a lot on here that like the dp. Heck even that superchip can wake these trucks up from stock. You just wanna wath it if running in extreme or performance settings. And gauges wouldn't be a bad idea, if fact it's recommended!
I know Ii'll be going with some gauges, hard part was debating which kind, though I like the new Ford Factory match, I figured a 4 gauge pillar, with what dew said I wasn't sure why gauge companies seem to only make a HPOP gauge for Ford's wasn't sure what is behind that. But the flashpaq is available to me for a hundred bucks and that's a good deal looking at retail which is why I started this thread.
They work well. I ran one for about 6 months. It's a world of difference. But DP is definitely better. I have the E99 and on the superchips perf tune holy SHH my truck took off fast. Too touchy for my liking, but E99's are meant to spool really fast. But the DP has much better tunes. I can take off just as fast but the pedal is not too touchy. Anyways, my answer if you were offered one and you are driving stock is - Take it. Drive with it but dont wait too long before upgrading.

Check out riffraff diesel performance. They have all sorts of gauges. I just bought an autometer cobalt pyrometer gauge from them and the trans temp gauge is soon to come then I'm throwing them both in on a double pillar mount. Most all of the brands on that site are good for the gauges. Dont get GLOWSHIFTS even though you can get them cheap.

The Dodge and Chevy guys have no need for an HPOP gauge because the Cummins and Duramax do not use the HEUI system (Hydaulically actuated Electronically controlled Unitized Injection) which, like the 7.3 and 6.0 uses high pressure oil to actuate the injectors and create high fuel pressure, via the injector intensifier piston, at the time of injection. The Cummins and Duramax use a high pressure fuel pump.
im currently using the flashpack 1855 on my 99 f350 4x4 cc drw with 163k after the trip-we just came back from, yearly vacation to Friday harbor washington from Sacramento, 900 miles one way. (cheapest diesel was in Salem Oregon: $3.86 i think)
i averaged around 17 mpg's doing about 65 mph- i will still roll coal on tailgaters. anyhow she's straight piped- stock exh. minus muffler with a turn down. k&n thing. used an edge loader for a while-i like the flashpack better.
one of these days im gonna buy a dp that every one raves about, not really into hot rodding my landyacht, more into mileage. already in the market for a new tuner deal.
a buddy has one of those fancy ones you can play with while your driving, will try that next.
*a side note the year before we drove a 00 f350 super cab short bed 4x4 (7.3
stock) lvl kit on 315 or 325 70 16 cant remember with 3.73's and got 17-18 mpg's easy.
