Oil Sender and Heater links

I am almost finished rewiring my '59 f-100 with the straight six engine. However, I'm having trouble locating the oil sender on the engine. I know a previous owner switched out the original oil filter housing, so the truck uses a different oil filter than the original did. Is it possible that in doing so he also took out the oil sending unit? Otherwise, where would it be?

In redoing the wiring, I found that the piece that connects the heater hose to the vent by the windshield has practically disintegrated. I refer to the piece that essentially connects the round hose to the oblong vent. Anyone know where to get replacements for that piece or how to easily improvise one?

Thanks all
