oil around crank case vent

This is a stock photo.

While trying to find the source of a small but annoying oil leak (3 inch spot on the ground after sitting overnite) , I noticed today that the 90 degree hose that is on top of the crank case vent, the side that connects to the long rectangular piece (not the side that is open to the air in the photo) was loose and there appeared to be oil coming out of it. The oil appeared to be coming from the clamp and leaking down to the 'warning' sticker. I say apperared because its not an actual leak...just oil residue..seepage.

Tightened up the clamp....but should there be any oil there to begin with? Seems like that's an air intake coming from the air filter. Where would the oil come from?

There is an oily mist mixed with the air coming from that hose. As the hose ages and deteriorates, oil can seep thru the hose. The o-rings on the bolts and under the little doghouse also shrink, get hard, and start to leak with age.
