Headlight issues

I have an 03 X Eddie Bauer V10 and both the low and high beams don't work. I've attempted to replace the headlight switch with no success. I can jumper pins 9 and 10 on the grey plug going into the headlight switch and the low and high beams work except for the "pull to pass" high beams. All of the fuses are good. I've been searching on this for over a week without any success. Where are the headlight relays on an 03? If the relay failed would it cause my symptoms? Any other suggestions?

Pin 10 is always hot and pin 9 is only hot when the headlights are on. Try jumping the DB/OG and GY/OG or/and the RD/YE and RD/BK and the multi-function switch connector. Power goes thru the MF switch to the headlights.

I'll try that later this evening. What are each of those wires for?

Jumping those wires is like bypassing the MF switch.

Those wires are in the steering column then correct? Pull both covers and I should be able to find them correct? I just pulled the wiring diagrams from alldatadiy and I now see what this is doing to check for a bad MFS but how would jumpering the 9 and 10 pin on the back of the light switch work if the MFS was bad? Sorry for all the questions but I'm more of a mechanical guy and HATE electrical stuff.

The more and more I look at the wiring schematics the more I think I don't have voltage on pin #8, the DB/OG wire. This comes from a 30A fuse but I've already checked every fuse in the fuse box. I'm going to start tracing the wire after work tonight from the fuse box to the switch to see if there is something wrong with it anywhere. This would cause all of my symptoms: lack of "flash to pass" and other headlight functions. Once I jumper #9 and #10 together I have power to the headlights and high beams but "flash to pass" and auto headlights are still powered off of pin #8.

Pin 8 DB/OG and 10 TN/WH should be hot at all times. When you jump 9 & 10 you are basically bypassing the headlight switch. You've already replaced the HL switch?

Yes, I've tried to replace the headlight switch but it didn't change the situation so I went back to the original. Without looking at it till after work tonight, I am pretty sure that I am not getting voltage on #8. That one gets power from fuse 7 in the fuse box and it is good. I am going to verify that I have power to that fuse then start tracing the wire from the fuse to the back of the switch.

Found the issue. The #8 wire was lose in the back of the fuse block for some reason. Plugged it back in and everything works again!
