I do security at a park & ride and there is a truck that parks there that is an older model (paint faded quite a bit) but the Front Clip looks like new, paint, grill & bumper. Its clearly from a newer model, it looks like the grill from an '08 maybe but does not have the tall box looking head lights that started in '08.
Is this a common practice to put a newer front clip on? Seems like a cool upgrade for an older truck or if you had an accident and had to change it. Either way, I liked it and wonder if its an easy thing to do? Does everything just bolt right on? Are there years of Super Duty that will work or will not work with the other???
Thanks, I'm guessing some interesting responses will come...
I think with an 08, you are going to have quite a few fitment issues, due to that being the first design of the raised hood models. Now, I know that there is more interchangability with the 99-07 models.
Hmm.. A pic would help.. But I think I may have an idea on where you are going with it. There is a write up somewhere here in which a member swapped out his 99 lights with a newer model (I want to say 05-07) which barely resembled the 08 models.. Same page? LOL!
OK so I finally got a few pic's of the Truck I was talking about. You can see the for sure Difference in paint color... I like the Grill and the Lights. I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap to attain but it looks great!!!
