Looking for a place to mount my CB and the antenna. Please help give me some ideas as to where to locate it where it might look good or somewhat factory. Pics would be great. Also pics of antenna locations would help as well. Did a search but have not found anything on this subject. Thanks in advance.
I actually like the HUM1 better. Was looking to see what people have done to mount in a dash or to form it into the truck somewhere. The standard thing is to mount on the hump and that is not what I was looking to do this time but it might be the only option in the end.
If you're looking for a recessed factory location for the CB itself, you could always replace the front cupholder with the CB. I've also seen the factory radio replaced with a thinner after market unit and a CB. The last suggestion is getting ahold of the overhead console, and stashing it up there.
For the antennea, dual whips look great, but don't add any performance. Single whip on the roof will always provide the best reception. A whip off the front of the bed on the drivers side, on the bedrail or toolbox, is another good spot but you lose some reception. A smaller cleaner option, is one that mounts on both sides of the glass on the back window. Mine's like that on the upper right portion of the glass, and hardly noticable on the truck, range is limited though.
