CB Mounting... Antenna Mounting... Wiring Questions...
OK. I'm getting ready to do a few trips in my truck. I want a new CB, Antenna etc.
Historically... I do all my wiring myself. But, I don't want to screw up anything in this truck. So, I'm considering paying someone to install and tune my CB. (I don't have a tuner anymore).
Was looking around the cab and can't find a good place I want to install the CB. The Antenna I want on the top of the cab. I'm going with the Wilson 1000 antenna. Since my truck is all black, I'm thinking of going with the black chrome Cobra.
Anyone have any pics of their installation?
Any help is much appreciated.

Me and a friend mounted our radios like this. He has an 07 F-150, so the interior matches the new SD, and his sits more upright and takes up less knee room. I run a 25 and he runs a 29, with no complaints about the room it takes up. We both have the mic on a hanger on the handle now, but before that I just stashed mine in the door storage compartment slot, and it fit fine. It works because we both had undercab grommets to put the antenna wire out, and the fuse panel is right there to get power out of, or through the firewall.
Our antenna rigs wouldnt work for you. I have a 5.5 ft Wilson whip on the passenger bedrail behind the cab, and he runs a a dual coil Predator right in the middle of the front bed rail that goes up over the cab.

I use a Ranger 2950 CB it is on floor mount that fit the contour of the hump in the floor
no holes to drill and it fits good and tight I hang the mic on the slots for the coins where the upfitter switches go. The antenna wire runs to the back along the console
under the back seat up the pillar for the back door under the door weather strip to the top. Don't know how to add pics sorry

I mounted the radio on the top of the dash in the well. I used industrial strength velcro this way I can remove the unit when I park the truck. I'm using the chrome Cobra 29.
The antenna is mounted on the front fender/hood slot using a Firestik fender mount. I'm using a Wilson trucker 2000 mast. The coax was pretty easy to run along the fender and into the cab. Behind the drivers door their is a rubber plug that I cut a small hole to run the wire. The coax is also from Frestik. The connector that goes to the radio is two pieces. The end that I fished thru the dash was small. I thinks the end that goes to the radio is called a PL-259 connector the larger female connector is assembled prior to attaching to the radio.
Sorry for the long post, hope it helps!

I mounted mine on the passenger side of the transmission well. Out of the way but still within reach, and nobody has kicked it from the other side. I wired it to the #4 Aux switch so that it turns off with the truck. I ran the antenna wire underneath the carpet to the underneath the passenger side kick cover at the door, then from there all the way to the back and out the rear vents in the back of the cab. You can't see a single wire and it only took an hour to install.

Thats the exact antenna I was looking at. I guess I'll take a hole saw and drill from the top down right into the sheetmetal, the pilot drill on the hole saw should mark the sheetmetal for the mount. I see how a brace would be needed that antenna looks pretty thick. The pics and info is much appreciated. Great, clean setup. Rep points added. Thanks.
