Vapor lock has bitten me twice in the last two weeks and is getting old fast.
The metal fuel line from the carburetor to the mechanical pump was 170 F+ degrees. Intake manifold and front of engine is close to 200F. The rubber hose coming off the other side of the fuel pump was only 108F.
Would some kind of heat shield tube or wrap on the metal fuel line work to keep the temperature down?
I'm trying out Mikes idea of the rubber hose on the metal fuel line. No vapor lock today but it was a lot cooler. Have to push it on a hotter day and see if it holds up.
If not, may try a mini-radiator for the gas right before the fuel pump.
