hey i am new on here i have a 1997 f250 4x4 6" skyjacker with a bank upgrad wheel 4'' exust k&n intake and have been having problems with my boost my gauge shows 0 at idle and 4-5lbs when i get after it its had this problem sinice i bought the truck and its my first 7.3 any sugestions? i changed the intake wheel put all new boots up top really dont know where to go next any advice would be much appericated thanks
its a sunpro gauge and theres a nipple right buy the head on the passenger side and it only reads 6 lbs under a load truck seems to do good only drops about 5-6 mph on steep hills with a load and i have 4" straight pipe exust but the weried part is it will run like this for weeks at a time and every now and then it will pick up around 18lbs under presure then go right back away
You should consider moving this over to the 94.5 to 97 powerstroke forum...
Anyway, what does it sound like when you're running hard? At about 2K RPM the turbo "woosh" should become audible in the cab. You should hear a distinct wistle as you throttle down too.
Could simply be your gage isn't hooked up right or was defective from the factory.
