E4OD help
i have a trans thats kicking my ***...its a 1995 f150 4x4
trans was rebuilt before i got the truck and everything was fine,,than it started shifting hard...
i got another trans from craigslist out of a 96 bronco and installed it..it was stuck in gear
long story short ,,i took apart both and mixed match parts not knowing thats a do not do..
i have no clue now as to what trans was in truck and what i got on craigslist...all i know is the parts inside are different when i removed the front pump and the valve bodys are different
i did find some info that shows the difference in type 1 and 2...valvebodys here

i have a 2wheel e4od and was going to change output shafts but before i do i want to try to get the valve body problem fixed first..to see if thats the cause...
i seen someone passing on a atsg which if your still out there heres email

e4od atsg manuals are hard to find for free...
ive found the atsg for e4od
ive found the updated atsg for e4od,,with changes
ive found the atsg check ball location manual
what else should i find for rebuilding this trans
i already have ford factory service manual

yes i read that..very long and alot of good links,but no manual links, than it scared me away..
i found this link
E4OD rebuild
now its easy but pics end before valvebodys are installed..
the atsg really breaks it down for 1st timer to understand more than the ford manual..just alot of homework
why arent these atsg manuals a sticky or something..they took days to find

The FORD E4OD manuals are the most detailed with photos of every operation of tare down and assemble, it also comes with a trouble-shooting section, theory of operation and diagrams of the oil flow in each gear. It is 3 inches thick and just covers the E4OD. There are two E4OD manuals, one for the 1989 -1993 and one for the 1994-1998.
I have both manuals.
Here is an older one that just goes to 1991 but seems to be missing the Diagrams and theory of operation:
