Did you pop off the plastic piece to mount the nut / bolt way? Or did you have to get surgical about it?
I popped the plastic and metal clips off but did not need to entirely remove the panel...just enough room to get a small wrench in along the foreward end of the B pillar (rear of the driver side front door). Removing all the pop snaps made it easy to get my hand in. No need to remove the upper seat belt bolt, but the driver side door sills (front and rear) and both door seals will need to come off (to get the B pillar mount loose).

Great idea, I am going to mount one for me and one on the other side for the wife.. Will come in handy for night operations with the 5er....
While you are at it, mount one just inside the door on your fiver. I used the same mounts. It's nice for first entering the trailer, and also nice to grab when the dog has to go out in a hurry at night.
Didnt do a play by play but I got couple pics of the light and clips mounted. I used SS hardware with nylock nuts and some decent sized washers on the back (inside).
It is solid as a rock now and I am really glad I came here before sinking self tappers into my floorboard.
Thanks for all your help folks, I really appreciate it.
