okay i have a 92 F-150 extended cab. with a 300-6 250,000 miles on it EFI all stock. i want horsepower (what's new) what can i do to get these. Where do i start. The more Chrome the better umm as far as i know we don't have emissions testing in Michigan. What is entailed in getting it bored over? How much will it cost $$$. What about porting the heads?. oh one more question has any one ever put nitrous in this engine? Any help would be appreciated

Do the 'usual' stuff:

Cliffy or Offy intake, 4 bbl carb, Cam, Lifters, Springs, Small Block Chev Valves, Port/Polish, Elec/Flex Fan, Hot Ignition, etc... You can expect 220 to 250 HP. I'm pretty happy with mine.

How much HP do you want and how much do you want to spend?

Do you really want to go carb or stay EFI? I am developing parts for the 300-6 EFI that will be useable with turbo or n/a engines. There is a major gap in supply when it comes to the 300-6, and I am looking to fill that. But again, it all comes down to how much you want to spend. Do you want a few more ponies, or a drop-in twin turbo axle breaker? That's the first step, to set a goal.

if there is no emmissios testing take off the cat, you can try advancing your timing around 2-3 degrees and porting your heads. you should also clean your entire fuel system from top to bottom.... This will help you get some power

over boring isn't gunna do anything in the line of power, except for the fact that you're gunna be puting in new rings and such so it will be getting better compression.

k i guess umm i'd like to start this summer with $1500. this fall i hope to geta better job and have acopla grand to put in it. I found a local guy that does machine stuff cheap!!! he's gunna resurface my flywheel for $20 (i do realize that doesn't say much). But i guess he is EXTREMLY reasonable on that kinda stuff. he does it in his pole barn and has just as much or more equipment than a machine shop.THIS GUY KNOWS WHAT HES DOING. Anyway. How much horsepower....is there really a limit to how much horsepower you can WANT. I'm pretty good at welding and am gunna do my own body work anyone know where i can get decent cab corners? I found a guy that does a good paint job fo $100 a panel. Does that sound reasonable?that was one of my questions should i stay EFI or should i go to carbed. What does advancing the timing actaully do (as far as mechanically and performance wise). Elec/Flex Fan, Hot Ignition??? you lost me.
thanks for all your help

oh yah i forgot one thing i want to do this and KEEP ALL MY TORQUE absolutly nothing that i will loose torque with (torque is my best friend)

don't go to a carb. EFI is a better system IMO.

Well you can go the turbo route, and get a lot more power, but its gunna take some custom fabrication. You could also go internal and get a cam, clean up the head, throw in bigger valves, bigger injectors, chip, exhaust, ignition... um... other stuff.

Could someone elaborate on the Turbo. I always wanteda turbo!!!. How custom would i have to get??? Also does anybody know where if anyone ever put a straight six L-6 or a 4.9L emblem on a vehice if so what vehicle i thought a bout just getting one with a six in ti and very carefully grinding it down then putting the L from behind it to infront ???? any suggestions!!! also how much would turbos cost ? what donar cars could i get one from and what about and intercooler i know i'm gunna need one will one from a power stroke work?? what about CR. What Cam's do you recomend. First things first I'm gunna fix up my body. Then Finish my SWEET sound system i just need to hook up my 2 300W clarion woofers. A KnN. A new Rear gas tank (could i get one from a junk yard what years of what will fit). then a SWEET TURBO (i'm so excited). Then exaust. One last queston which i know is very controversial headers or intake (manifold) or exaust (manifold)?. And last but definatly not least a big sticker in the back window that says ""Big Red" . okay one last question what the heck is IMO??? lol thanks for all your help.
