70A alternator questions -
I have a rebuilt 70A alternator here staring at me - questions - is this 'overkill'
for a 4.9L auto with air and a radio?
Do I need to take any precautions or changes in the wiring (truck being built from parts) per voltage regulator etc. The ignition is Duraspark II if that matters.
Appreciate any and all help - this place is "it" for info!
Thanks in advance -GHO
47 panel,4.9L,C6, blah blah blah - many parts waiting to join in productive 'harmony' !
I am assuming since this a older vehicle, you have a modern wiring harness you have installed? Make sure the output wire of the 70a alternator is at least 10 gauge, and you should be good to go.
Alternator is in the truck,Ford reman unit, mounted on the 'skinny long' engine, and the grocery store and gas station got my wallet !
I will be sure to use 10g or heavier wire at output - fat wires are good.
Thanks Again.
GHO
