2011 Explorer

My mom got a new car.. 2011 Explorer, loaded. I sat in it 15 mins and still cant figure out everything, my favorite part is the back up cam!!
(we are now an all Ford family by the way)

Will report back when she gets some miles on it!

Buzz killer (whispering: "just because it's true...")

Anyway, to the OP, nice looking. The backup cam is worth it's weight in gold. Once you have one, you're hooked.

Well I am torn between a 2011 F150 XLT 2wd and a 2011 Explorer XLT 2wd or a 2011 Taurus Limited. I really like the Explorer.

My beef with Ford right now (as well as other car makers) is that you have to get the higher end level models to get options like back up cameras and navigation systems. At least you can get an Explorer with it in the XLT trim. In Taurus, you must get the Limited before you can get nav and the Lariat trim before you can get it in the F150.

im not overly concerned with some of the high end goodies.. I looked at a $29k base EXP last week and it seemed about fully loaded to me !!!!! LOL

My mom now has about 3600 miles on the explorer. She seems to be liking it better than the old car, but did complain about the view from driving or something? My dad loves it.. and i still like my super duty better.

She had to drive upto burlington, vermont from connecticut which is about a 4-5 hour drive and averaged 22.5 MPG. I found out the lie-o-meter is pretty accurate too.

Back in July it had to go to monaco ford because on the top rear of the car where the roof meets the cargo door there is a piece of weather stripping. Somehow, this weather stripping came unattached and allowed water to get in (not inside the car.) It has since been fixed, only was at the dealer a day, and has been fine to this day.

I dont think any of the car feels cheaply made or of low quality material, it all feels pretty solid to me. I am interested in how its going to perform this winter as we get lots of snow up in new england and also head to vermont typically every weekend.

That is all for now
Oh

We are an all ford family again used to have an 04 Expedition

Sorry, but that name died when it was transfered from the trucks to that little 4 door thing in the 90's just my opinion though, so don't flame me.
