Just saw a guy giving away 15 gallon of kerosene for free on craigs I heard you can run it in our trucks but just add 2 stroke oil.
I was just wondering if anyone has done this and if its worth it.
I dont feel like Guinea pigging it but if someones done it i'll take 15 gallons of fuel for free anyday
Depends on where the kerosene came from. Actually, why the hell would it be dyed? its more expensive then diesel anyways... more refined. But I guess it could be dyed.
I've seen it sold in hardware stores, nice and clear in plastic jugs of different sizes. The second place I've seen it is at some fuel pumps. I just figured it was at the pumps to cut with diesel in the winter when winter blend fuel isn't enough.
I'll second not to run it straight, but mix it with diesel, a little 2-stroke certainly wouldn't hurt. Or pick it up, give it to me, and I'll run it with a bit of something or other mixed it
yeah i'd run it mixed if I pick it up
I'll try to pick it up and mix a few gallons in with 3/4 full tank of diesel then maybe throw in some extra additive to make sure its lubricated enough
and the guy says they are in the plastic jugs so i assume its clean hardware stuff but i'll walk if it looks sketchy
we always used to mix a little K1 kerosene in our diesel tank to winterize the fuel, but i dont know about running straight kerosene, i wouldent trust it
